CTG Surveyors assessed the extent of damage and provided budget costs before fully specifying and project managing the entire project.
The Church has many fine architectural features all of which required special consideration. The blown stone windows were dismantled, marked, rebuilt and traced to prepare tender documents. The stained glass windows and Fresco paintings to the walls needed protection and specialist conservation restoration repairs. The Organ was dismantled, cleaned and is being reinstated.
The Church was re-wired and bespoke lighting and heating units were designed. Original artwork discovered beneath old paintwork in the Chancel was traced and reintroduced to show how the Chancel would have looked 180 years ago. The project was completed on time and in budget.
A lot of attention to detail was required and very close co-ordination. CTG Surveyors site managed everything bringing in all the different specialists and teams, attended PCC meetings and provided regular reports and updates for Insurers and the Diocesan. The project has been a resounding success with all and was opened by the Bishop of Oxford and the Archdeacon of Oxford. |
